CHRISTMAS
Due to the fact that our housekeeper did a runner just before Christmas I mounted an anti-Christmas campaign in my house, I REFUSED to cook anything and threatened everyone with Indomie. Not that I'm denying my family a nice chicken lunch or nothing but I've been deceived like this before, last year my mum told me "just cook like we're having regular lunch, its just us, nothing serious"...and before I knew it I was chopping green pepper and making small chops and grinding beans for moin-moin, ONLY ME. I have just one sister, who's 12 and therefore no help at all in the kitchen, my brothers will just sit and wait to be served, so this year when Blessing did a moonlight flit I was prepared and informed my mother that we were not doing Christmas this year that I had had a nice chat with her sister who had graciously agreed to host all the families and as her house is adequately staffed I did not foresee any circumstances that would have me pounding, mixing or chopping anything.
Praise be to the Infant Jesus because it was a roaring success.
Familial duties duly observed, I headed to my cousins house, the Okpalekes who were hosting us wakajugbes for Christmas dinner. It went from a little family dinner to a quite sizeable event, definitely aided by the Lagos bush telegraph honed to finding exactly where the lems are stashed, be it Sallah, Christmas or Easter. You can never go hungry during the holidays if you're tuned into that grubido amebo frequency.

TWP in a very roomy dress, worn specifically for the purpose of lemming without detection. The things I did to food that night ehn, the chicken took out a restraining order. Tres embarrassing, I can't come within 50 feet of poultry for the next 6 months.
Adanna the prayer warrior, getting dinner off to a Christian start. Reminding us all what the day was about lest we thought it was solely for the consumption of that magnificent spread.
Kanebi and Rilwan. who are both rappers signed to PlAY records, owned by Elvis and Charles Okpaleke.

REUNION
On the 27th, I and Henrietta and my other QC besties attended a mini QC reunion at our friend Omowunmi's mums 50th at Bon Voyage Hotel in vi. It was an insane night that started at Bon Voyage, went on to Piccolo Mondo, then to the Mega Plaza Food Court as a result of a serious case of gullyciousness, then to the Marquee and finally at Rehab.
Omowunmi O., Hilda, Omowunmi F., Yoko, Henrietta, Nneka
After a thoroughly decadent night I, Henrietta, Nneka, Hilda and Yoko ended up back at Henrietta's and instead of crashing stayed up till 6am eating white chocolates and drinking some weird chocolate flavoured red wine thingy. Old friends are truly amazing, we've known each other since we were 9 years old in QC, were seat partners all the way till SS3. Did all the bailing out of school to attend parties together, so we basically all have the same gist from when we were kids. The whole night was just jokes, reminiscing about boarding school and when Mrs. Euler-Ajayi cancelled our SS3 prom on the pretext that "prom did not glorify God", 9 years later we still have beef for that woman, if it had been Mrs. Sojinrin or Mrs. Marinho that will NEVER had happened. Remembering Interact Club events which apart from Interhouse Sports in QC, were the only other way to meet boys while we were imprisoned in school and just recalling all the Queens College urban legends, especially one I'd like to debunk right now..........
NO QC GIRL RAPED AN ICE-CREAM MAN
This myth seems to be very popular amongst the other schools and when I say the other schools I mean KC, A-hall, ISL, VF, no other school mattered. Anyhoo, it never happened, we heard this gist the same way y'all heard it, utter lies. I'd like to admit one though.....
Yes, QC girls chased Richard Mofe-Damijo, I saw this happen with my 2 koro-koro eyes. I think it was in 1997 because I remember then I had recently transferred from Vivian Fowler and I was still trying to form cream girl in front of the QC barbarians. Poor RMD had come to the Principals office, nobody knew for what but the gist spread throughout school that he was on the premises, naturally all classes were abandoned and we all came out to the corridors to see him. Not that we were that interested in RMD but school was boring and QC girls loved activity so any chance to make noise was welcome. The dude stepped out of Princi's office and there was instant pandemonium, girls started screaming, bear in mind that these girls were senior girls. Us Jnr girls didn't have that kind of liver so we were still sitting like good girls in our classes. But when the seniors started screaming we couldn't resist it so we rushed out of class to see what was happening just in time to see a SOLID blue wave of QC's finest SS1-SS3 girls RACING after RMD.
I was absolutely flabberwhelmed.
The man who had been casually ambling, looked behind him, saw these pubescent teenagers running towards him and took off! I was crying from laughter, it was the funniest thing I'd seen in years, they chased him all the way out to the main gate, relentlessly. RMD can tear race sha because he dusted those girls nicely, the minute he crossed the gate the gatemen shut it so no-one could run out after him.
The next day the entire school knelt down on the Assembly ground from 8am to 2.30pm, including the innocent Jnr girls. This is one memory that will never leave me, I think I started to love QC a bit from that day because I was like "this is such a madhouse". VF girls would rather die that even act like they knew who RMD was, their fronting was legendary. All in all, it was good times sha. Finally went to bed in the morning.

NEW YEAR
New Year's started out weirdly, my mother, a staunch Catholic warrior and President of the Infant Jesus of Prague Society of St. Leo's Catholic Church...somehow managed to mix up the time for mass and we got to church after mass had ended. My mother was frantic! We hadn't been to midnight mass the night before and she could not envisage starting the new year without the body and blood of Christ.
Thats how we drove like mad to Blessed Tansi Mass center...mass over
Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit....mass over
St. Agness Catholic Church....mass over
St. Timothy's Catholic Church....mass over
At this point Mrs. U was close to tears, we were driving home dejectedly when (I swear to you, no exaggeration, it was like a movie) we heard hymns coming out of a building. my mother screamed STOP THERE! We screeched to a halt in front of the building but it was St. Jude's Anglican Church, I was like "mummy, its an Anglican church o", I was talking to the empty air because ma maman was already racing into the building to receive her 2011 blessing.
I and the rest of the family went in after her and for the first time in my life I attended an Anglican service.
The rest of the day was spent at home, people came over and I thoroughly embarrassed myself by crashing in the living room in full view of our guests.
Later that night, energized by my shameful nap I headaed to my first party of the new year thrown by the Mbadiwe's. This was one of the few parties I've attended that the whole guest list, iv thing was strictly adhered to. Like nobody got through, if they did sha it must have been on the way down low because security was tight.
My cousin Ugonna Ijeoma. She was one of the hostesses at the party, her dress is the absolute BUSINESS. I saw this dress for the first time over on Uzo's blog www.jadore-fashion.com. one of the ,most perfect evening dresses I've ever seen.
TWP in a dress by Jini. She's a designer i've known about for a while but I'd never seen her stuff anywhere until the Creative Focus Exhibition (details coming in next post) last week. Anyhoo, very nice dresses, great colours and designs and EXTREMELY AFFORDABLE, I can't even articulate how affordable she is. I just came to the exhibition to support my friend Iro with no intention to buy anything except her hair serum, but the minute I saw the clothes and heard the prices, my wallet started tingling in my purse, i swear to you it was like a magnetic reaction. I couldn't have stopped myself even if I wanted to. The one I'm wearing above cost N7,000 and its one of the more expensive ones sef, that's something we don't have in Nigeria, affordable native clothing. All the ones I've bought this year have been from N15,000 and above. Not easy on the pocket at all.
Eze Agim who does the best dougie in Houston. Crowds form when she does the dougie i tell you, dance machine toh bad.
Oy, Yoko, Nneka. Mi familia
From me, myself and I at Third World Profashional, here's hoping all my faboosh profashionals had a very decadent holiday. Wild out in 2011, the world is ending next year, you must to groove utunu this year.
Love and Light xxx
p.s. Forgot to add, I'm having a wardrobe sale of about 95% of my closet. These include clothes, shoes, bags, jewellery, accesories and the awesome catch is everything will be sold for the unbelievably low price of N1,000, no matter what the item is.
This sale will take place on Sunday Jannuary 9th 2011 from 12pm to 6pm, everything must go! Interested parties should email me at abimbolaufere@gmail.com for the address because its at my house and I don't want to put my address up here.
Some items however due to a lot of interest been expressed in them will be up for auction, that is people will have to bid for them and the highest bid wins, simple.
I repeat almost my entire wardrobe, new and hardly worn clothes. I promise you, its an awesome deal.

Pole Dancers and the Koko
While i was in The Buj, i took out some time to see what was hot in the city, so the night before the wedding a bunch of us went out to a club called Aqua inside Sheraton hotel Abuja.
Aqua is unique in the fact that it is the only mainstream club in Nigeria that features partly dressed pole dancers (if there are any others please correct me). The first time I went there my eyes were literally on stalks, i COULD NOT believe what I was seeing. The funny thing though is they aren't hot Vegas type airbrushed girls, they are gritty, down to their last kobo, hard luck kinda chicks dressed in underwear; I kid you not; not bikinis, but pant and bra.
My next visit there last week they had at least upgraded to bikinis, but still though, any guy who comes away from there lusting after those people must be a very grimy someborri ridden with all manner of STD's.
Denrele was there doing the mostest and WHIPPING HIS HAIR ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE! It was impressive, he definitely deserved a chop knuckle from Willow Smith. These his shoes though, I'm just weak on the subject, how long is this dude gonna keep this up? I guess Charly boy is his idol and that one is still raiding the Salvation Army castoffs at over 50, so maybe he intends to go down that route.
Shalewa, it was her birthday that night. she was also a bridesmaid

@moji_bank. You'll notice i tagged her with her twitter id, funny story. i tweeted that I was at Aqua, one of my followers @Tkamz was now like "my girl @moji_bank is there too and its her birthday, please give her a happy birthday hug from me". that's how me and the Moji(I'm assuming this is her name) started searching for each other in Aqua so i could deliver her birthday hug. Twitter can be so random sometimes.

One of the unsavoury Aqua dancers. I took this photo from a safe distance because I wasn't sure if people were allowed to take pictures of the girls and it wasn't about my camera being broken by an overzealous bouncer at all. The thing though is that theses babes can BUST A MOVE! You go fear gyration, I had to observe for a while to pick up tips, it was a marvel I tell you.
Abuja was loads of fun but I couldn't wait to get back to Gidi, I swear there's truly no place like Lagos.
A couple of days later, I attended the Koko Concert, not in the same class as the Tuface Concert but still fun nonetheless and thats only because i love Mo'Hits. Himself who's not as partial as I am pointed out that they lip-synched THROUGHOUT the entire show, yes I'm ashamed to admit it, but they did, the organization was dreadful too. Now I'm not elitist or anything but I fully believe in getting what you pay for, like most shows the regular tickets were N5,000 and VIP tickets were N20,000. yes N20,000 is quite steep just to go see a bunch of musicians but its not by force, the times I can't afford it I sit my heinie at home. I'll never buy a N5,000 ticket because they are 'standing' tickets, meaning you stand through the entire duration of the concert and thats not just sexy, whereas with the VIP ones you're sat at a nice table and get served small chops and wine etc. At previous shows like Tuface and Basketmouth, the people who paid for regular tickets stayed on an upper floor of the Expo center and all the people who paid for VIP tickets were downstairs so it was all very civilised like, there was no pushing, no shoving.
Mo'Hits however decided to flip it on us and have the private VIP tables upstairs and the VIP seats downstairs in a cordoned, roped off area. The N5,000 people were then told to stand around the stage.....stand, therefore rendering all of us sitting down incapable of getting a decent view. They put all of us on the same floor, it was so annoying because we were now all kinda relegated to the back, I and my brother were just like if we had seen this arrangement before we bought our tickets we'd have paid the N5,00 and endured the standing because we could barely see anything. The nice calm show I had envisioned turned into a screaming, sweaty fest, needless to say I was one very pissed off bunny. I had to stand to take in anything sensible, consoling myself throughout that at least Smnoop dogg was gonna show up at he end to perfor the "Mr. endowed" remix with D'banj.
I got the biggest ELA of my life.
Awon Mo'Hits crew arranged themselves and performed the song, yeah Snoop Dogg was featured on it but not in the flesh. Kai, i was pained, that was what I had been using to justify that N20,000 all this while, Himself had a good laugh at me. D'banj even had the audacity to say he never said Snoop Dogg was coming. Now..I'm a lawyer and I have to deal with implication and full expression every day, especially in laws which are so confusingly written that you can extract 5 different meanings from one line. Therefore to avoid ambiguity it is wise that whoever is making a pronouncement states expressly the meaning he intends to convey so another meaning may not be implied from it.
For about 3 weeks, we had been assaulted on the television and on the radio with ads about the Koko Concert and though it was not EXPRESSLY stated that Snoop Dogg was gonna make an appearance to sing Mr. Endowed, it was however heavily IMPLIED. A reasonable man would deduce from such advertisements that the likelihood of Snoop Dogg coming to Nigeria were very high. Therefore the MO'Hits crew knowingly misled Nigerians and especially TWP into thinking Uncle Snoop was going to be in attendance.....all this grammar i spoke above will tell you that I'm still very bitter about it. Anyhoo, God dey sha, they'll get theirs.
Luckily i had on my gorge jumpsuit by Meena, helped to alleviate the vex a bit

Meena Label Launch - SILVER SHADOW
My weekend was super packed because this week is my last week of work so I'd been working round the clock to clear my desk before the 15th but I just had to make out time to catch the Meena Label Launch at the Leila Fowler Store on Saturday the 11th. I and Himself and my friends Yoko, Henrietta and Maddy went down there to scope the offerings. the collection included elegant cocktail dresses, jumpsuits, peek-a-boo tops etc
Meena Creative Director - Uju Offiah in a Meena original
Meena ready-to-wear
The unique thing about Meena is that she does not do made to measure, that is, you can't carry your ankara or French lace to her and say make a strapless dress for me or make a one armed top. She simply releases a collection every season of about 6 ready to wear pieces in standard stock sizes and ships to her retailers's sort of like a Nigerian Reiss or Karen Millen. Its a very imaginative concept in the Nigerian fashion industry and has enormous potential for growth, she is definitely the first designer in the country to do this specifically and not just as an offshoot of a made to measure label.
The models in Meena
These babes were on some Project Runway, Americas Next Top Model kinda steez, they were "smizing" and giving face like no man's business, Andre Leon Talley would have been proud. After observing a lot of models close hand, anyone that calls me skinny or breakable is gonna get a smack in the mouth. I am a WHALE compared to these girls, their hipbones could cause serious injury if you brushed by them. Their bodies are gangsta! I was seriously impressed because I have zero discipline, I've never worked out or dieted in my entire life, I've simply been relying on the grace of God. The day my luck runs out, I'm hightailing it to Dr. Robert Rey to lie under his magic scalpel and 90210 the fat away.
Henrietta, Yoko and Bukky. Bukky's tunic is to die for, I've totally become obsessed with Angelina Jolie style caftans and goddess dresses. That is definitely on my "To Cop List"

Elle-même in my mum's vintage Azzedine Alaïa top from the 80's. The 80's and the 90's were the worst decades for fashion, but once in a while I find a few pieces I really like. Unfortunately my mum only started saving her clothes from around 1982 so that's all I have to work with. The top is a little roomy for me though but I can't trust Nigerian tailors not to ruin the top so unless Alaïa himself comes to Ikeja and takes it in for me, there's nothing I can do about it. I'm also wearing a DIY turban, constructed out of a black scarf and a silver shell brooch.
More Meena. I bought the jumpsuit on the right, can't wait to wear the hell outta that outfit.
Is it just me or are the models breasts doing the mostest, like when I first saw this photo, apart from the sinful beauty of the jumpsuit I was like "damn I want those breasts too". Was it chilly in there? Were there ice cubes involved? What???
All in all I loved what Uju had to offer, Nigerian designers are a bit too ostentatious and though on a good day Anna Dello Russo is my idol sometimes its also fun to step back and channel Grace Kelly. The minimalism of Meena is reminiscent of Doo-Ri Chang or Jil Sander or Calvin Klein's Spring 2009 which was just to die for. Sometimes less can be equally fabulous.

Molly + FAB Magazine Night Out
So last weekend was awesome, my friend Molly is getting married and it was her bridal shower and hen night on Saturday. I'm very proud of myself, I've successfully cut down on all my social activities (though Himself would beg to differ), but seriously though unless its something specific e.g. a birthday or like last weekend, a hen night, anyone that says they saw me out in a club na e tu ezigbo ashi.
The weekend started with me missing the opening of PLAY in Calabar, due to the stubbornness of Molly's other bridesmaids who refused to move the bridal shower and hen night date, it was 9-1 against me. Plus work has been BANANAS these past few weeks so there was no way I could get out of it on Friday to race to the airport and catch the 2pm flight to Calabar, I'm still beefing everybody that was able to go sha. I consoled myself that night with Fringe Season 3 and Modern Family-----this show is the biggest trip ever, MF and How I Met Your Mother have to be the funniest series ever.
my Molly P is getting married!
Udy, Molly. The bridal shower was at Oniru private beach and it was my first time there. I won't go as far as to say I hate beaches but I'd rather stay home and watch tv than go to the beach where you run the risk of being stabbed by broken bottles, frightened by massive horses, getting salt water in your eyes, being held up by touts and on getting home finding sand in your unmentionables. Scratch that, I hate beaches.
Playing the "who knows Molly best" game (which I won btw)
Thankfully we got one of the more "modest" cakes and not all those ones with spunk gushing out of a fully tumescent phallus, or a cruel female hand with red talons grasping a poor guys cojone's.
The Hen Night, we decided to go with no theme and just had everyone show up with pretty dresses and gave out masks.
TWP in a dress by Meena, who is another FABOOSH Nigerian designer. This dress is even one of the more simple ones, the rest are seriously gorgeous creations, I LOVE the french lace at the sleeves and hem, burriful!
*Uju of Meena is launching her label with a collection titled SILVER SHADOW on Saturday the of 11th of December at the Leila Fowler store on 215b Etim Inyang crescent, Victoria Island Lagos at 2pm*
Linda, Molly, Udy, Temi
Molly and the other bride. We were having so much fun and causing so much commotion that another bride and her bridesmaids on their own hen night came over to join us and being the magnanimous party animals that we are we kindly gave them masks too
Her bridesmaids were mad people too sha, had to give it to them. Safe to stay WE were the party that night. Typical Nigerians, nearly all the guys in the club ditched whoever they came with and literally surrounded us, staring like it was American wonder.
The next day, Sunday, was the FAB Magazine Night Out. It was a fashion show/mini concert/comedy show/awards. Who else has noticed that Nigerians never do just one thing? If you're attending a comedy show there must be musical performances. At fashion or award shows there are always comedians, seperate from the MC's, they always overlap. I think its a Nigerian thing because I don't really see it happening anywhere else, its like Nigerians imaginations can't be captivated by just one event, there must be about 5 different things happening at the same time. Even if its just a concert, there must be about 6 performers, it can never be about just one artiste and there's always the interminable lull between performances, where someone (who is more often than not, Basketmouth) comes to entertain the guests while we wait. I think the Tuface show was the only concert I've been to that was strictly Tuface throughout, No comedy, no catwalk, other artistes were strictly those that featured on his songs, no distractions.
Where was I...FAB Night Out, yes. It was fabulous! Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, Re Bahia, Mai Atafo and Jil Couture showed fabulous dresses. Bez, Sasha, Mo'Cheddah (I LOVE this child!) and El'Dee performed and Elenu and Seyi Law were the comedians. It was hosted by Tee A and Yvone Ekwere (I refuse to use that "Vixen" name, somewhere in the world a kitten dies when people say that word). Then awards were given out. I was ok with most of the awards except Banky W for Most Stylish Male Artiste, that I thought was a fail of epic proportions. When there's Naeto C and Darey, how can Banky W win most stylish anything. This is not beef btw because I love Banky's music and he's a pretty funny person to follow on twitter but stylish...I think not.
The best bit of the awards though was when PLAY Sports Bar and Grill won Most Stylish Bar, I was like yay! This is amazing recognition for the effort that Elvis and Charles Okpaleke have put into PLAY in just two years, Elvis was on hand to collect the award after just getting in from Calabar and he dedicated it to his late father.
The funniest bit of the awards was the "Black Carpet", don't get it twisted but Naija has stepped up its paparazzi level, they're on some E type steez now I swear to you. Case in point, as i walked in, the camera bulbs start flashing, I was like ok, normal. The next thing was now the different style channels (who knew there were style channels in Nigeria, I didn't) and they were all asking, "who are you wearing", "what inspired your outfit" etc, I was cracking the eff up inside, I was just like are these people for real? They made me walk them through my entire look and did a 360 camera turn and analysed each accessory I was wearing....it was surreal. The only reason I stayed so composed was because I was alone, if i had come with my friends who are just useless people, we would have embarrassed ourselves with laughter. I guess musicians and awon celebrities are used to all that but I just thought it was funny. Couldn't take any pictures because I forgot my camera, that totally bummed me out.
I wore this white grecian inspired dress by Babushka (again, I know). Gold obi belt and beaten gold armband were inspired by the gold sequins on the shoulder, totally channeling Greek goddess. This is definitely one of my favourite maxi dresses, deceptively simple but it stands out for miles. I can't lie people were feeling the girl that night.
This was totally the wow factor, I LOVED the back. The dress actually comes with a regular scoop necked back but I told her to add the drapey, cowl bit at the back. I'm totally all about the exposed back, unlike its contemporaries, the exposed front or exposed legs, even if your entire back is saying hello to the world it always looks classy rather than trashy. It will take a hardened hoochie to turn an exposed back into ashewo type clothes.
Fortunately or unfortunately, its December (Nigerian season of the "I just got back, mwah mwah") so everyday is a weekend, truly in December everyday feels like a weekend. Anyhoo there are gonna be events for days, so I expect to be out a lot and my darling Nneka is coming back next week, yay! Trips for days.

Sideview Event + Wedding Fab
Yours truly in a vintage Lanre Da Silva lace dress and Ankara bib necklace by ST Colours and acres of "horse hair" (according to commenters on Bella Naija)
SIDE VIEW Magazine is an International magazine; currently distributed in all the major fashion capitals, particularly in Europe, Africa and America. It has featured Celebrities, Artists, Designers, Models and talented professionals from all over the world. After the successful '3 bloggers, 1 night' in Vancouver the fabulous people of Sideview Magazine thought it would be a good idea to host one for their Nigerian readership. They got three amazing bloggers and social media influencers - Terence Sambo, Noble Igwe and Tari Ekiyor whose contributions to fashion, entertainment and lifestyle have been hugely accepted. The editor-in chief Dumebi Agbakoba and Tinu Adesugba were on hand to make sure the event was a blast.
After a long day in court on that Friday, I dragged my boo Oyidiya to the Marquee to go see wassup
Nwunye m, Oy looking tres fit! I need to step up my gym game, in fact to be truthful, I've never worked out in my life, people like Oy inspire me but not enough to actually do something about my looming christian mother arms.
Terence Sambo and Noble Igwe, two of the honorees
Tari Ekiyor, the only female blogger featured.
My bizzles Ediri and Anwuli
Cutie patootie Adebayo Oke-Lawal
Neks2U. Love the hair! I'll never be bold enough to shave it all off but I admire those who do and she looks faboosh!
From there we went upstairs to the bar at the Marquee to party properly and we were joined by my friends Molly and Kafy.
One of my oldest and bestest, Molly
Kafy2slick2brisk
Then we headed to Bacchus to party with my ninja Oye Smith for her birthday. Good times.
Oyetola. We actually became friends through twitter, extremely random friendship. At her Bacchus do, there were all these people I only knew through their handles on twitter and it was so funny how when she was introducing them it wasn't with their real name just twitter handles, This world is officially weird sha.
From there we went on to Rehab which was PACKED! Apparently that night was the Hennessy Beat Bar crawl and I'd totally forgotten.
*for people who don't live in Lagos. There's a radio station called The Beat 99.9, which is without doubt the coolest station in Lagos. Anyhoo every month they host a Bar crawl in conjunction with Hennessy and basically they pick an area in Lagos and go round all the bars in that area in one night.
Very nice you say? Lemme tell you why not....
Now The Beat is a very popular radio station and whenever they do these bar crawls they announce it on the radio the entire week, its like a constant barrage of publicity. So everybody hears it and everybody wants to come out and party with the presenters. Now for those of us who have no wish to be part of the madness we either stay home or party in another part of town. Unfortunately for me though I must have seriously spazzed out last week because I did not remember that they were having one on Friday and I unwisely ventured into Rehab. For your own safety I beg of you, if you hear The Beat is having a bar crawl, STAY HOME. #ThatIsAll
The next day I attended a wedding at City Hall, which is fast becoming the site du jour for weddings and engagements for my friend Chigbo and Mikki's wedding. I'm a total wedding hater, like unless I'm a member of the bridal party or I know the couple well I stay home on Saturdays. I so don't do the attache for weddings that's a staple of Lagos social life. I mean, you've seen one wedding you've seen 'em all. This year though I attended a spectacular wedding, my friend Ediri's and I have another amazeballs one coming up in December, my boo Molly's. This wedding was one of the one's I really liked, it wasn't overly large which is shocking for such very well known people. The crowd was intimate and fun, everybody knew everyone else, you know how at a wedding there's always that person who has no idea who the bride or groom are, this was so not one of the. I really liked it, very unlike my usual grinchy self.
My 'adire' and lace dress by Babushka. I absolutely heart Babushka, I first met the designer at the October Le Petit Marche and I was really impressed by what she had on display. Truth be told she was the only designer that did it for me that day. Unlike many Lagosians I go to LPM to buy rather than stand around looking pretty and trying to get my picture taken, so I'm always on the prowl for hot talent. At the August LPM I discovered Ejiro Amos Tafiri and ST Colours whom I love to death. And at this one Babushka, her dresses are a dream I swear.
The entire back panel of the dress is tricked out in lace. There were some very scary monents when I thought she wasn't going to pull it off as I had to go for a second fitting and amendment but she came through and gave me an amazing dress. Totally gonna rock this again, can't waste it.
Anwuli, Kech, Ediri
Awesome, awesome weekend! Next one promises to be even better though, Himself gets in on Friday (yay). Next weekend is gonna be legendary!
*Oh yeah, I was one of the featured "1000 Smiles of 2010" over on Noble Igwe's blog, 360nobs.com. See it here
