Ripped

I'm moving back home in a couple of months so I've been cataloging my clothes dividing them into "keep", "sell" and "give to charity".

The ones for sale are going to be put up on a new blog address called Shop TWP and they are basically clothes and accessories that are brand new or pre-loved but in fantastic condition. The ones that don't go up on the site will be sold off in a wardrobe sale when I get back to Lagos in July.

Lord knows it'll be a miracle if I ever get it off the ground even because I'm a renowned hoarder, I can save stuff for years. At my last wardrobe sale I actually cried when my things were getting sold off.

I think I like clothes and bags more than I like people sometimes :)

The long and short of this fabulously cool story I'm telling is that I discovered these jeans I'm wearing in the pictures below when I was rummaging through the piles of stuff I have stashed all over my flat, I haven't seen them in years. They were regular old skinny jeans that I ripped and frayed myself a few years ago and haven't worn in yonks.

LOVE them still.

Overlook my Blue Steel, I wasn't pissed or nothing but dark lippie and ripped jeans don't really go with wide toothy grins.

In case anyone's interested in my goth pout, its Revlon lipstick in Black Cherry.

 Topshop shearling parka
H&M slouchy tissue tee
DIY  ripped jeans
Ralph Lauren Epi leather tote
Gucci high-top trainers

Fishtail braid comes separately

Lol.

I've finally perfected my fishtail braid, like I'm on pro type levels now.

*big things poppin'*

On a completely unrelated note, anyone on here watch Basketball Wives Miami? Like, what do you guys think about the foolywang going on this season with Evelyn and Tami tapping into their inner teenage bully week after week. I don't even want to get into the hot mess to the power of a thousand that's Evelyn's ratchet ass assistant Nia. I can't lie I'm one of the people that loves the drama all these reality shows bring but all this season I've been cringing watching Tami and Evelyn gang up on Jennifer, all because she doesn't want to be friends with them anymore. Until I started watching these shows I had this idea in my head of grown women being all serene and regal and only bothered with taking care of their families but they've taught me that women never grow up. We're all still teenagers in secondary school, with all the gossiping, back-biting and bullying.

Ridiculous.

I'm not so mad that I'll go sign the petition to get Eve & Ocho from airing in September though, looking forward to seeing Evelyn make a bigger fool of herself  :)

New In

My top picks from the Virgos Lounge pastel themed Spring collection were delivered a couple of days ago.

Soooo excited to get them.......

 The Holly Skirt and;

The Iggy Jacket

Funny thing is my aunt also bought the Iggy jacket after seeing the post I did on the collection, and she's in her 50's. VL is transcending age boundaries yo.

I still have my eye on the Moss Blouse

errr.....birthday present anyone?

It doesn't matter that my birthday isn't for another 2 months, I don't mind getting gifts early. I've already started accepting even, my friend Mia of the blog Miafarradaily recently made my YEAR when she gave me a ticket to the Watch The Throne concert in May.

Jay Z and Kanye......Best. Present. Ever!!!

Who else is as excited for the Virgos Lounge for Topshop launch on April 29th as I am? I'm super stoked, cannot WAIT to shop that collection.

Wedding Fun

*Warning...photo overload*

Attended my friend Maky's wedding on Saturday and it was AH-MAZING! The whole week in the run up to the big day was so much fun and Saturday was the perfect climax. The last time I had this much fun at a wedding was at my friends Ediri and Molly's back in 2010.

ASOS sheer maxi with a side split and slashed bell sleeves
ASOS double cuffs
River Island studded sandals

I did a fishtail braid for the first time that day, I'd never tried it before and I thought I did a pretty good job considering it was my first attempt. It works better when your hair is really full and not very sleek though, my hair was flat-ironed and serum'd up to within an inch of its life when I did it, so it didn't have the fat plait look a fishtail braid is supposed to have. I'll try it again after I've washed and blow dried my hair to give it more volume.

Everybody brought their A game that day, as in it was a room full of gorgeous people in seriously beautiful clothes. I love that Nigerians always get dressed up, none of that casual BS. Some people actually dare show up at weddings looking like they're just running down to the off license. Anyone that tries to ruin my wedding photos in 'casual wear' is going to get it from me.

Go hard or go home.

Beautiful people.....

It was an evening wedding so after dinner which ended at about 10ish or so an ice bar was set up in another room while the reception room was being turned into a club with a lit up dance floor, the whole works.

I was pretty stoked to see the ice bar because I've heard about ice bars, ice clubs and ice hotels for quite a bit but I've never seen one in reality.

It was interesting trying to figure out how it was being refrigerated to keep it from melting, the things people come up with are just amazing.

The shots were served in these ice shot glasses.

Dope AF.

The music was spectacular, DJ Exclusive outdid himself and we literally danced till like 2.30am, I didn't get home till 3 and the party was still going strong after I left.

I'm proud to announce I think I can now drink properly without wanting to curl up and die. I had several shots and glasses of champagne and I was clear headed all night and woke up "lookin, smellin, feelin like a million bucks" *in the voice of Ludacris*

I think I'm finally an adult.

It was beautifully organized and had a strict guest list that was adhered to. I've always wondered if its possible to have a wedding in Nigeria where people actually RSVP and has a guest list, no stragglers, name cards at a table......

If anyone has managed to pull it off I'd really like to hear how they performed this feat because the only weddings I've seen this being done successfully was this one and my friend Ejay's in 2011, and both were in London.

These past 10 days or so have been LIVE.

Cut-Outs

Was out last night at a friends bridal shower/hen night and I wore this cut-out midi dress by River Island.

River Island cut-out midi dress
Office leopard print pimps
Louis Vuitton Vernis Brea MM

I haven't been to a bridal shower or hen night since I lived in Lagos and this one was particularly hairy, a very unique collection of insane people added up to a pretty spectacular night.

It was at a Middle Eastern restaurant in London called Levant and we pretty much shut the place down, hella good times.

The beautiful bride to be, Maky.

I looooved the decor, it reminded me of Balthazar, the restaurant where Carrie and Big had their rehearsal dinner in SATC 1. Very exotic, beautiful colours and delicious cocktails. I'm well on my way to becoming a confirmed alchy, I've drunk more in one week than I have this year.

Beautiful people........

Our token guy of the night was my friend Kike's brother, Dami, who helped out taking pictures. The poor boy was subjected to our shenanigans and saw a whole lot more than was necessary. I'm sure it was very memorable for him.

From the restaurant we went to a bar called Sketch then back to my friend Anwuli's for drinks which was when the madness really began, but those pictures are def not ending up here. Too many bride prices at stake.

Absolutely mental night.
