Right Royal Celebration at Union Square - 29 April
Want to shop on your day off but don't want to miss the Royal Wedding? Union Square is delighted to announce that Cineworld will be showing the Royal Wedding on the big screen from 11am on 29 April. Drop in for a chance to see Will and Kate say "I do"! The showing is free and subject to availability.

Be at Union Square between 2-4pm later that day for the Union Square Royal Wedding Street Party at the south entrance (opposite Boots and Cult) complete with Face Painting by Lisa Bobbins.






Union Square Fashion Weekend 30th April & 1st May
Join Union Square for the Spring/Summer Fashion Weekend on Saturday, 30 April and Sunday, 1 May! Be first in line to get a look at the brand new collections and trends from some of the best brands at Union Square. There will be three catwalk shows each day (12 noon, 2pm and 4pm) featuring collections from the likes of Outfit, Zara, H&M, Next, Fat Face, New Look, Vero Moda, Jack and Jones, Republic, Pulp, Internacionale, TM Lewin, AB10, Cult and Cotswold Outdoor!

Brummie Series Day 4 - Ladylike

The finale, all holy like on the way to Mass on Sunday. I can't help this hands on hip thing, I swear I've tried.

Later that night, on our way to dinner.


My deceptively simple boat-neck shift. This dress is a work of art, the material, the structure, you can dress it up or leave it bare. Either way its savage. Loved it so much I got it in red too. That is actually a necklace, even my friend thought it was part of the dress, yay to statement jewellery.







We had dinner at this faux Italian restaurant, Cafe Rouge. The food was fantastic, don't get me wrong but the waiter caused me to question the Italian-ness of the establishment.


Dude was giving us the bellissima's and cara's and co and kissing his fingers and whatnot with canzoni itialiane playing in the background, really setting the stage. Next thing he gives us our food and says "bon apetit". I was stunned, wasn't he supposed to say "bene diminuisce"? I felt violated after all that Italian gra-gra.

I guess I should have been alerted by the fact that it was called "Cafe Rouge" instead of "Rosso". French name for an Italian restaurant? Hella weird.



The food was pretty awesome though

Brummie Series Day 2 - Colour Blocking

Because I'm TWP and because I can, I colour-blocked my face, BOOM!

Day 2 begins with everybodys favourite fashion inspiration this season, colour blocking. I'm not really a bright colour person, it will take a while to catch me in solid yellows or bright blues, I like prints and if I'm gonna wear solid colours its usually black and white. I recently started warming to the idea however after going to Zara to buy this deceptively gorgeous boat necked shift dress (loved it so much I got it in black and in red). Zara is slaying in the colour blocking department, I love every single thing they have. Maybe my love has shifted because H&M thoroughly disappointed me with their whole Giselle in peasant like farm garb clothing nonsense. Really though, y'all need to get on Zara online and start putting your debit cards to work, amazeballs.


A Zara display wall. Managed to take this photo sharply before I was tackled to the ground by overzealous salesgirls and security men. This wall was predominantly orange but the whole store was like an explosion in a poster colour factory. Achingly beautiful.


With a bright colour on top already, couldn't bring myself to wear another bright colour on the bottom. I'm tall, I'd look like a walking traffic signal. Had to tone down all the brightness with my favourite, all weather black.


This skirt is actually very long but because its tight all the way to the ground, it rides up as I walk in case any of you bad belles dared to think my skirt dey fear ground, better fall back.

Brummie Series Day 1 - Tough Florals

The day started with my visit to the infamous Bull Ring or whatever. Now I personally don't think its infamous, I couldn't give a flying saucepan about a scary metal bull in front of a shopping center but Bugo insisted that it was a Birmingham landmark and if I didn't climb on it to take a picture I might as well turn back and start giving them Legedes Benz back to Aberdeen, so I risked life and limb to mount this infernal contraption nearly losing my teeth in the process. Now I'm pretty sure Himself will stand by me through pretty much anything but I fear what a row of smashed, jagged teeth would do to our relationship.

That bruise on my knuckles was caused by a ring I had that extended from the tip of my finger all the way to my knuckles and was made of broken glass. You'll have an idea of how stubborn I can be by learning that I wore that ring consistently even after it hurt me dozens of times.

Reality Check

Spent this past weekend with one of my besties Nwabugo in Birmingham, before I get into the post lemme put up a few photos from my delicious vacay last week.

Reunited with my awesome friends for a week of heat, no electricity, suya, Jevinik vegetable soup and election cancellations.


This is from the mid semester pub crawl with the rest of my class. we had this on the last night before the holidays began, and no I'm not too old for crop tops. As long as my abs are tight and the fashion is right, I shall do as I please, non?


My favourite married couple, Mr. and Mrs. Okwa, the other contenders are Mr. and Mrs. Okafor, unfortunately I couldn't get a picture of them.

So I just got back from Birmingham today after a blazingly hot weekend, as in I was literally sweating, even had to turn on the air inside some times. As the plane was descending into Scotland, outside my window were grey clouds scudding past, grim, granite buildings, dour faced farmers holding pitchforks with their wives by their sides carrying pails of sour milk (well I imagined that last bit but Christ the view was depressing). I stepped out of the aircraft and was hit with a blast of icy air, I nearly broke down in tears. What do I have to do to get some warm weather down here, its frigging April already and its still below zero at night. One day I'm just going to say screw this and be on the next flight to wherever's hottest right now because I don't know how much more of this weather I can take.

*wail, wail* *sob, sob*

Ok I'm better now.....and back to regular scheduled programming....

I've decided to do outfit posts, ghen ghen.

Fear not, I'm not turning TWP into one of those blogs where I contort my body into intricate and painful poses all in the name of looking like I'm modelling high fashion when I'm actually wearing high street or something I ran up on a sewing machine (yes, that was a sub). This is not a fashion blog as I keep reminding people who persist in insisting that it is, it is what I like to call a personal lifestyle blog. The name "profashional" is there just because I like the way it sounds, this has nothing to do with fashion. Its simply a breakdown of what I do at any given period, occassional rants against the male gender or anyone that I decide to be annoyed at that week or very rare bursts of poetry. I don't do celebrity gossip, fashion shows etc. This is essentially my online diary, just that its viewed by loads of people. The fashion bit is due to the fact that Adam ate the damn apple so human beings are required to cover their nakedness and I happen to take an above average interest in that department, c'est finis.

Back to my point, seeing as I had a very willing photographer in the person of my boo Bugo, I decided to take a few pictures. I'm sure you all know that I have one pose, hand on the hip, legs crossed, body slightly tilted to one side, well it works for me and I believe in not fixing something when it aint broke. In my Brummie series (as I decided to call it), I decided to shake it up a little.

I decided to.......wait for it.....NOT PUT MY HANDS ON MY HIPS!

Damn, I'm innovative.

I honestly stay rolling at the crap my brain spews.

Anyhoo, this whole week I and Bugo are gonna be feeling like awon models and co, nothing serious, just a little more clothes and a little less talk. I'll start formally tomorrow because my first day I got in pretty late to hers and was too tired to look particularly pretty, so Brummie Series Day 1 starts tomorrow. I'll just start with a preamble.

Sorry, hands on hips, sorry sorry sorry. What I wore to travel, my faithful Doc Martens which Bugo calls my work boots and leather pants which according to her made me look like a punk Goth.
