Getaway

Left the boondocks for the bright lights of Glasgow today to spend the weekend with my cousins.

Zara blazer
H&M tee
Topshop supersoft 'Leigh' jeans
Prada Saffiano Lux tote

As you can see I'm currently weave-less and I'm attempting to have my hair out for at least a month, can't remember the last time I've had my natural hair out for that long. My hair is quite long but it breaks really easily so any tips for dealing with breakage will be greatly appreciated.

Got into Glasgow this evening and I swear I've been laughing since I landed, my cousins are funny AF and I I've probably laughed more in one day than I have in a while. To compound the hilarity we went to see The Dictator and honestly, hand on heart I'd love to be Isla Fisher for a day. I need to know what it feels like to be married to Sacha Baron Cohen/Ali G/ Borat/Bruno/Admiral General Aladeen. We were literally rolling, jokes for days man.

Bob, Chiugo

Staying up now watching Youtube videos, we're currently on the JJC interview on D'banj, supreme bants. Gearing up for tomorrow night, haven't been out since February and I intend to party like its 1999.

Love and light xx

  1. Top tip will be to make sure your moisture and seal daily. I'll recommend co-washing your hair regularly to reduce breakage.

Also buy a big tub of coconut oil, olive oil and Shea butter. Perfect ingredients for great hair!

    Hope that helps!

    1. Ok what's sealing and what's co-washing? I'm totally clueless about these things. Also do I mix the oils together or use hem separately?

  3. Nice outfit.
Trim off your loose ends often. I also recommend coconut oil, olive oil and shea butter (most importantly) too.

Try a DIY steaming regimen using egg white, mayonnaise, honey and warm olive oil (heat it for about a minute). Leave it on for 30 minutes. I do this once a month and it gives great results.

    Hope this helps.

  6. If your hair is breaking off, you might want to step up protein treatments (weekly if you can manage it). If you don't want to get into the diy stuff, Aphogee 2 min reconstructor is amazing. Alter Ego Garlic Conditioner will stop the breakage in it's track but it might be difficult for you to get it in ABZ (American product).
A good leave in to look at is the Herbal Essences one in the red bottle, I forget what it's called. It's supposed to be for split ends but it should work in this case as the premise is to strengthen your hair.

Other than that, things like keeping your hair up and off your shoulders (friction from rubbing on your clothes can weaken the strands) should help.

Aaaand I'm done lol. Good luck!

  11. Lool @ team natural. When I saw shea butter, coconut oil, olive oil and protein treatment, I knew that natural ladies have invaded this comment page loool.

One thing I will suggest though is, experiment in moderation. After turning natural, I watched every You Tube video and bought so many products, till I realised, It ain't gwan work for me cos MY HAIR IS NOT THE SAME loool. Those were styling products though so thats a different issue plus you did not talk about being natural. My comment is therefore of no help. I just wanted to say it somewhere because its paining me, after buying all sorts mtchew!
